1. City Fleet Energy Efficiency Plan
The aim of this project is to develop an Energy Efficiency Plan for City Fleet. The aim of the Energy Efficiency Plan is to identify and implement measures to increase the energy efficiency of the city fleet and at the same time to reduce the amount of CO₂ released into the environment. The focus of this project is fuel consumption of vehicles and equipment.

2. Staff Cycling Program
EThekwini promotes increased awareness of Non-Motorised Transport (NMT). The initiative will allow eThekwini councillors and staff to have access to a pool of bicycles located at numerous municipal buildings within the city to commute within the CBD. The project aims to make a tangible contribution to reducing the environmental impacts of Municipal activities which contributes to eThekwini's GHG emissions.

In keeping with the on-going promotion of NMT, bicycle racks were installed at various council owned buildings in and around the Durban CBD. The racks were installed so as to provide users with easy access to safe bicycle parking bays.
