South Africans urged to remember Mam' Winnie
Deputy President David Mabuza has encouraged South Africans to find the time to honour the late struggle stalwart, Winnie Madikizela-Mandela.

“We want to say to our people wherever they are, [they must] find time to remember this leader and in the coming days, they will be afforded the opportunity to pay their respects and those [nearby] are welcome to visit the family,” said the Deputy President.

The Deputy President said Madikizela-Mandela’s life was a life well lived and government would be making various pronouncements in the build-up to the funeral on 14 April 2018.

According to the Deputy President, the entire contingent of the National Executive Committee is expected to visit the family in the coming week to pay their respects to the Madikizela and Mandela families.

On Tuesday, President Cyril Ramaphosa declared a Special Official Funeral for Madikizela-Mandela, which will be held at Orlando Stadium, Soweto.

The funeral will be preceded by the official memorial service, which will be held at the Regina Mundi Catholic Church, Mkhize Street, Soweto, on Wednesday, 11 April.

In addition to this, the President declared national days of mourning from 3 April 2018 until 14 April 2018.
